Reporting illegal content

Last updated: 5 July 2026

Anyone — user or not — can report content available through Sapyora that they consider illegal or infringing. Reporting is free and takes an e-mail. This page explains how it works and what happens next.

1. What you can report

Content that breaks the law, infringes intellectual property or other rights, is defamatory, discriminatory or incites hatred or violence, contains sexual content involving minors, breaches someone's privacy, or contains other people's personal data without a legal basis.

This covers materials published in the public library, materials shared through sharing links, and user names or texts entered in the app.

2. How to send a notice

Write to contact@sapyora.com with the subject “Illegal content”. To let us act, please include: the exact web address (URL) of the content; the reasons why you consider it illegal; your name and e-mail address (except for reports concerning child sexual abuse material or similar offences, where you may stay anonymous); and a statement that you believe, in good faith, that the information in your notice is accurate and complete.

Rights holders reporting an infringement should also identify the right invoked and the person entitled to it.

3. What we do

We confirm receipt without undue delay, we assess the notice diligently and without arbitrariness, and we communicate our decision with reasons, within a reasonable time.

If the content is illegal or breaches our rules, we remove it or disable access to it, and we inform the user who published it, with reasons. Where the law requires it, we notify the competent public authorities.

Automated tools are not used to decide on removal; decisions are taken by a person.

4. Challenging a decision

Both the person who reported the content and the user affected by a measure can challenge our decision, free of charge, within 14 days of being informed, by writing to contact@sapyora.com. We re-examine the case and answer with reasons within 14 days. Court and authority remedies remain unaffected.

5. Point of contact

For users, notifiers and authorities, our single point of contact is contact@sapyora.com. Communication is accepted in Romanian and English.

6. Unfounded or abusive notices

Notices that are manifestly unfounded and submitted repeatedly may be suspended, after a prior warning. Knowingly false statements may attract legal liability.
